There are several different types of video poker machines and most are played with a 52-card deck. Video poker machines will automatically determine the best hand to keep, with some automatically "holding" the cards for you. Jacks or Better Video Poker - It is called Jacks or Better because a minimum rank of a pair of Jacks in your finished hand is required to form a winning hand. It is the most popular and it's what most people learn on before moving on to the others.

Deuces Wild Video Poker - It is called Deuces Wild because the deuces or 2's are considered wild cards. A deuce or wild card may be used to replace another card and can even be used to form a five-of-a-kind winning hand. A minimum rank of three-of-a-kind in your finished hand is required to form a winning hand.

Jokers Wild Video Poker - It is called Jokers Wild because the jokers are considered wild cards. A joker or wild card may be used to replace another card and can even be used to form a five-of-a-kind winning hand. A minimum rank of two pair in your finished hand is required to form a winning hand.

Aces and Faces Video Poker - Is very similar to Jacks or Better with these two exceptions - four aces rank higher than a straight flush and four jacks, queens or kings rank higher than four-of-a-kind with a lower rank.

Tens or Better Video Poker - Also very similar to Jacks or Better, but in this game you'll need a minimum rank of a pair of tens in your finished hand to form a winning hand. One other difference is the payout. You have an increased chance of winning though the payouts are a little lower.
